What can the SENCO do to help?   Back to First Page   What is Early Years Action Plus?

What is Early Years Action?

Children at Table
It may be that your child needs extra or different help for him or her to make progress. At Early Years Action the SENCO collects more information about your child from you and other people working with your son or daughter.

The SENCO will agree an Individual Education Plan (IEP) with you.

The IEP records anything extra or different from the normal activities followed by other children in the group.

IEPs usually include:
Bullet Point
Up to 4 targets in areas where your child needs extra help.
Bullet Point
Suggestions for activities and ways of playing and working with your child.
Bullet Point
People or equipment needed to help with this.
Bullet Point
A date to meet to review progress and plan again.
Children who have made considerable progress may no longer need support at Early Years Action.
