Helping Children in Early Years Settings
What if there is still concern about my child's progress?   Back to First Page

What will happen when my child moves on to primary school?

School

When your child is coming up to school age, the early years staff should talk with you about what provision is available.

At this time, you may like to visit some schools and talk to them about your child's special educational needs. (Use this link to see the Finding Out About School booklet)

Before your child starts his or her new school, contact between the early years setting and the school will be helpful in planning the support for your child. With your consent, all records held by the early years setting can be passed on to the school.
