Role of the Special Educational Needs Caseworker
SEN Caseworkers work for the Local Authority, they: |
- oversee the Statutory Assessment process
- attend and process Annual Reviews
- process funding requests
- request specialist placements
- make transport requests
- amend statements.
|
Caseworkers check and discuss what
goes into a statement and make
referrals and recommendations for
placements. They advise, support,
inform, mediate and liaise. Most
decisions are made by a Local
Authority Panel.
If you have a concern about your
statement speak to your caseworker
and/or contact Parent Partnership. |
