Out & About LogoMany disabled children and young people want to get out and do the 'ordinary' leisure activities that their non-disabled peers take part in.

Out & About is a registered charity offering support to disabled children and young people aged 5-19 to enable them to access mainstream leisure activities of their choice. We are currently taking referrals in the King's Lynn and West Norfolk Area.

Leisure activities include local sports clubs/groups, scouts, youth groups, Rainbows, Arts and Crafts groups, Drama and Music right through to using public transport and more.

Trained volunteers and staff work alongside each disabled child and young person to develop life skills with an aim for the disabled child or young person to be able to attend their activity unsupported.

Out & About can also support in taster sessions as well as support in leisure activities in the school holidays. All you pay is for the 'ordinary' everyday costs that children and young people pay to get in to their activities.

Anyone can make a referral including parents or carers. The disabled child or young person needs to live in the Kings Lynn and West Norfolk district and our criteria follows the definition of disability in the Disability Discrimination Act.

Visit our website for more information on what we do, referrals and to read about what parents and young people say about us. Referral forms can be downloaded from our website or we can send one to you.

"I really love basketball, it's something that I really want to do and I play it at school sometimes.

"It's brilliant to go to basketball! Jeannie was good to be with at the start. She was kind, funny and I will miss her. I do miss Jeannie, but I really like going on my own."

Philip's Mum said:
"I am thrilled with the progress Philip has made with his basketball club and with being included in such a short period of time. His support worker quickly built an easy relationship with him and responded to his needs. I am very proud of Philip and would like to thank Out & About, as this wouldn't have happened without their support."
