How can an Independent Parental Supporter (IPS) help parents? If you are a parent or carer of a child with special educational needs, an IPS can:
	Help with issues related to your child's education
	Help you to be fully involved as a partner in your child's education
	Listen to your concerns and help you to express your views
	Help you to access relevant and up-to-date information
	Explain procedures and choices
	Explain about assessment and statementing
	Help you to fill in forms, write letters and reports
	Go with you to meetings.
Norfolk Parent Partnership has a team of Independent Parental Supporters They:
	are volunteers
	have initial training accredited by the Open College Network
	get ongoing training and support from the Norfolk Parent Partnership team.
